I was first introduced to yoga by my dad in grade school. We attended weekly Hatha classes led by a local Swami. I was always intrigued by the sense of calm and ease I felt in the presence of such a wise teacher. Years later, working for AmeriCorps in Milwaukee, I reconnected again with yoga, diving in fully. I feel so grateful to have completed my 200-hour certification with Shayne Broadwell and Ryan Hader of Core Essence Yoga and my Yoga Therapy certification through Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT), as well as Blooma's Prenatal Teacher Training, Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Michelle Pietrzak-Wegner, Trauma-Informed Yoga Training with Firefly Yoga International, and Anatomy Training with Awaken Pilates and Northwestern Health Sciences University. I have completed my 800-hour Professional Yoga Therapist certification, accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and am also a Certified Pelvic Floor Yoga™ Teacher with Leslie Howard Yoga.
As a lifelong athlete, I bring athleticism to my invigorating classes, and emphasize alignment, balance, strength and playfulness. I weave yoga philosophy, precise alignment, a deep understanding of functional anatomy, and a sense of lightheartedness into my classes, in order to give students a unique, thoughtful, and transformational experience. I truly believe that there are as many ways to do yoga as there are humans. As a lifelong learner and forever student, I have made it my mission to immerse myself in as many different lineages of yoga, in order to be able to share the gifts and magic of yoga with as many people from different backgrounds and life experiences as possible.
